Sodexho Executive Ivan Gutierrez Honored as a Young Hispanic Corporate Achiever

Ivan Gutierrez, vice president, supply management, was named one of 28 young professional executives at the inaugural Young Hispanic Corporate Achievers (YHCA) program by the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR) -- a coalition of the nation's most influential community-based organizations.

GAITHERSBURG, Md., November 12, 2007 -Sodexho, Inc., the nation's leading provider of integrated food and facilities management services, announced today that Ivan Gutierrez, vice president, supply management, was named one of 28 young professional executives at the inaugural Young Hispanic Corporate Achievers (YHCA) program by the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR) -- a coalition of the nation's most influential community-based organizations.

Gutierrez manages a team at Sodexho, a company that serves more than ten million customers a day and manages 6,000 clients in North America. He migrated from Nicaragua at the age of fifteen without any English language skills, which he quickly acquired and, maintaining a commitment to education, now holds several advanced degrees. Today, he is an advocate for education, a community activist and holds board-level positions in several social and business organizations. Through his talent, entrepreneurship and leadership, he is truly making a difference to Sodexho and the community.

Gutierrez was nominated by peers and superiors at Sodexho, and was selected by HACR after a review of accomplishments, established leadership qualities, industry expertise, education and employment experiences, as well as a demonstrated commitment to their communities. The awardees are between 25-40 years of age, of Latino origin and employed by a Fortune 500 company or HACR Corporate Member.
